I think I'm getting a bit lonely. I spend most of my free time making things, be it art, sewing, or building gizmos and thingymabobs but what I don't really have is a decent social network for doing this kind of stuff so I spend a lot of time working in isolation and I realize that in some ways this reduces my overall creativity because either A) I get lonely and browse the internet and waste time or B) I'm not exchanging ideas with other people. I'm just off in my own little world.

I'd like to grow and share and learn from others but I've never been good at finding people and the bay area is so huge and so impersonal that it's hard to ever really get to know anyone. The only group I feel like I wouldn't get along well with are religious conservatives. I actively like Burners, furries, and queers, but what I'd like most is a place to sit and create things with other creative people. I need to be inspired.

Anyone out there got any ideas?
